Planning for the Long Haul

If you take $50 a month and put it in a jar and save for 30 years, you would have $18,000. If, however, you take $50 a month and invest it and get a reasonable return on your investment, you would have over $60,000 at the end of 30 years. The difference is how you invest your money. The same concept is true with your time. If you live from day to day and just try to survive over the short term, you will reach your mature years with far less of a meaningful life investment than if you purposely invested your time in the right areas. This workshop is not about daily planning, it is about life planning, and how you can maximize the investment of your time to pay off greater dividends for your marriage, your children and YOU.

The idea is that every married couple has a marriage box that they believe is full of love, romance, sex, connection, laughter, and security; but the reality is every couple begins with an empty marriage box. You only have access to the tools that are put into the box. Many marriages are suffering today because they have not been given the right tools for managing a marriage relationship. During this session, you will be given some basic and advanced tools that will infuse great communication, connection, and conflict resolution in your marriage.

In a recent survey taken for a church marriage retreat, in daily medical practice, and in surveying pastors and teachers, the overwhelming complaint that this physician deals with regarding marital and life stress is time stress and overload. Just like all other important life issues — for which there are is direction, promise and hope in Scripture — the issue of stress, fatigue, and overload are well treated in the Word. We will address the personal and family trials and Biblical and scientific truths regarding time management and stress this year — so that the mistakes of 2017 don’t become the crises of 2018.
